The Galaxy Fishbone Caridina Shrimp, also known as Galaxy Fishbone Shrimp, is a captivating member of the Caridina genus. These unique shrimp showcase mesmerizing patterns and are a delight for any aquarist. Originating from selective breeding efforts, the Galaxy Fishbone Shrimp is a prized addition to your aquarium, known for its exceptional appearance and ease of care.

Black Galaxy Fishbone was bred from Pinto, which originates in Taiwan. This new species had taken 3 years to be successfully improved by SKYFISH AQUA, an enterprise that specializes in breeding shrimps. Black Galaxy Fishbone, the best species of this strain, has won the championship in an international competition of ornamental shrimps.

These shrimp are not only beautiful but also serve as efficient algae eaters. They diligently forage for food, cleaning your tank and contributing to a healthier aquatic environment. Their diet primarily consists of naturally occurring biofilm and algae, which makes them low-maintenance and eco-friendly. They can adapt to a wide range of water parameters and are incredibly peaceful, making them great companions for other shrimp species. With their versatility, these shrimp are a superb choice for any aquarist.

Breeding the Galaxy Fishbone Shrimp is relatively straightforward, making them an excellent option for intermediate and confident beginner hobbyists. Sexing can be challenging in younger shrimp, but as they mature, females become distinguishable by their slightly larger tails and the presence of a "saddle" behind the head, where they store eggs. When female shrimp are "berried," their saddle becomes more pronounced. Males typically remain smaller than females once they reach adulthood.

Proper acclimation to your chosen water parameters is essential for their well-being, but once acclimated, they adapt well to their environment. Whether you have an established aquarium or are just beginning, adding Galaxy Fishbone Shrimp is a fantastic choice.
